A new chapter begins for metaHealth. We have been named the Official National Secretariat of ISPOR Philippines, the local chapter of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR)—the foremost global authority in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR).
This milestone strengthens our role as a driving force for health technology assessment (HTA) and HEOR in the Philippines. It gives us a unique platform to connect decision-makers, researchers, and advocates working toward a health system that delivers value, equity, and better outcomes for all Filipinos.
Our Role Ahead
As the Secretariat, metaHealth will focus on:
- Building ISPOR Philippines into the go-to network for HTA and HEOR expertise
- Guiding the chapter’s strategic direction and governance
- Bringing together policy, academia, industry, and civil society in collaborative dialogue
- Amplifying Philippine perspectives in ISPOR’s global and regional platforms
- Promoting evidence-based approaches to health policy and resource allocation
Why This Matters Now
The rollout of the Universal Health Care Act and the institutionalization of HTA mean that high-quality, locally relevant economic analysis is no longer optional—it’s essential.
With ISPOR Philippines as a stronger, more active professional body, we can:
- Raise the standard for policy-relevant HEOR research
- Nurture emerging Filipino experts in HTA
- Create more spaces for technical exchange and innovation in health policy
